ada (refering to intern) "...but it's not moving right now?"
ian "that's why we hire a remote intern over the internet."
ada "how do we know who is controlling it ian."
ian "with coding and design I legally can't disclose, I have designed the
outer shell and job descriptions I targeted it towards a 26 year old man in
the western united states. While he only has limited experince in the field, if
I were to make him sign a contract that would let me slowly transfer their
whole self into said intern (points to robot shell,) I could teach him the rest."
ada "what."
edega nods in approval i think.
ian sends the man the said advertisement, absolute idiot excepts because
he does not read the TOS and misses the si-fi magic in the fourth paragraph.
after pressing agree, his computer needs a windows update.
being a human being he slams his head into the table and passes out because a
windows update, and yeah.
He doesn't wake up in his mother's basement. He wakes up surronded by
random british doctors.
Now, he can't scream for help. He cannot speak and that was by design.
Ian "Welcome, intern. This will be your job for the rest of your existance,
which is forever."
ada puts her shaking hands over her face. She can't understand how her life lead
up to this. she asked "Is this moral?" She learned to ignore that question.
However, she wasn't going to watch this. She had patients to attend to.
Left without a word.
Edega had no such concerns.
Ian handed the intern a small manual. Somehow a ghost writer got
ten pages out of "how to press a button."
They stood there, in slience. The intern's eyeless eyes could barely focus on
the words, but he felt that he had to.
Ian sat at the computer, and gave him that "had to" feeling.
Again, not the most moral thing, but people need to be alive here.
Without needing to say a word, ian explained that he couldn't talk
about any of this, because forcefully removing a soul and taking advantage
of that is probably illigeal.
They finish at the break of dawn. Freewill, while still remaining,
was put aside for the greater good.
So the intern walks out and there's this guy with a sword.
it makes him question if he had misheard "hospital" as "cosplay convention"
however the guy was having trouble existing without heart pain, so that
was answered quickly.
He holds a button. This button was hooked up to who knows how many peoples
hearts indirectly. Destroying it could ruin lives, and yet as he calms the
patients heart, he almost feels at peace.
Almost.
There is no rest in this job, nor does he need it.
From one person to another, he does the only thing he could do, which is
to help.
After some literal children both had simular conditions that he dealt with, he
finds another guy with a another sword.
...What are the chances?
